Yes! If your last name is hyphenated, you may choose one last name to appear on your debit and credit cards.

You can use your chosen name on most of your Educators Credit Union credit and debit cards. Because this service is only available for regular membership accounts, business and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) are not eligible. Please note, the chosen name on your card does not alter the legal name on your account.

Your legal name will not change on your Educators Credit Union account(s). However, Educators Credit Union will use your chosen first name when speaking to you. Additionally, in some instances Educators Credit Union may ask for your legal name for identity verification purposes.

If you request that your replacement card is mailed, it will arrive in the mail within 7-10 business days. If you would like to have your card same day, you can request your new card by visiting a branch location near you to have the card instantly printed.

You can continue to make purchases using your current card until your replacement card arrives and you activate it. Once your new card is activated, please destroy all previous cards as they will no longer be usable.

Statements and emails from Educators Credit Union will still display your legal name. At this time, your chosen name applies to your card only.
All checks you receive will need to be made out to your legal name, and all checks that you give will display your legal name as well.
